Newark Country Club is known around Brandywine Valley for having one of the best old-style, championship golf courses in the area. Requiring a private membership to play, the course is an 18-hole, par 71 course with 6,396 yards from the back tees. A course that can be played in 4 hours or fewer, members describe the course as difficult for a better player, but forgiving for an average player. The course plays tight with small greens, and the lush fairways are in excellent condition.
Not only is the course an enjoyable one to play, but it also acts as a hub of social events for men, women, juniors, seniors, professionals, and families. A strong member-driven program, the club has a Men's Golf Association, a Ladies Golf Association, and a Youth Golf Association; and many NCC golfers are active in state tournament. There is also active participation in Couple's Twilight and various 18-hole and 9-hole groups.
